Default Vantage Carbon Fiber pipe annoyances...

How popular are the Vantage CF pipes? There's a guy racing at our track with one.

The sound is horrendous, like some loose ball bearings rattling around in a coffee can and amplified through a 10,000 watt PA. I hate being on the track when that car is running. I especially hate racing against it because 1) I want to drop my controller and protect my ears and 2) it's impossible to shout down to our pit guys.

I used to think the engine in that car was broken or not running a pipe at all, until a fellow racer had a similar complaint last night about it and told me that it was a Vantage pipe. At least I'm not the only one.

I realize that just about anything goes in club races, but that pipe is something that I wish was illegal even in club racing.

That is all. Thanks.

I like the way it sounds. The guy who owns my local track has one hooked to a Ninja JX21. It sounds just like a KX60 without a silencer!!!

But I agree, it is too loud. It will not help keep tracks open. But it is perfect for bashing around your own property.

I heard the pipe is a thirsty one too!!!

I've got one. Love the sound but yes, it's loud as hell and yes, it doesn't offer the best fuel mileage. At least not with the Vantage headers anyway.

It's not something I'd want to race with, but I think that everyone who owns/runs a nitro should experience at least once

I had both of mine cracked (which includes the replacement that Vantage sent me). It........is.......freaking loud. I had my ear plugs on when I was breaking in my engine with that

That pipe at our track sounds like a deafening loud toy. It sounds like something is broken and out of tune. I suppose it's the plastic-like resonant properties of carbon fiber. It's not a flattering sound for any nitro engine.

It does draw people to the track. I was pitting for a guy running that pipe and I had numerous people come up to me and ask what kind of engine he had. Some people seem to equate volume with performance
