What would be a good reliable rtr for about 350.00-400.00 ?

+4 on the Losi 8ight. There is simply no better RTR package you can get.

I gotta say the Losi 8. And I do not, will not, run what the "in" crowd runs. If your just starting out, you need better servo's and your good to go.
