I have just got myslef a DX3R-Love it.. I like it 1. Because of not having to worry about Crystals anymore. 2. Sooo light.. makes those mains fly by!.
3.Easy to use.. and some nice features.. which are adjustable. 4.Battery's last ages.. and only uses 4 AA's. 5. Comfy.. for me.. and 6. Love it.. they do feel slightly on the cheaper side.. but think thats partilary due to the lack of weight behind it.. but I really like mine.. was defo worth the money for me personally..

...Or what about the DX3S? Sure it has DSM1, but there is barely a noticeable difference between the two. Like a .09 and .08 second servo difference, somewhere around there. If you have more than 10 cars, get the DX3R. But telemetry really comes in handy when you are pitting and check your radio to see what temp the engine is. And you also get an extra receiver for cheaper than the DX3R.

DX3R
+1 on DX3R extremely lightweight and easy to use. I have used this radio system for the 2008 season since it was released without any glitch. It has a ton of options including a timer function which I really enjoy. From what I have seen if you can afford it the 4PKS from Futaba is a phenomenal radio system also it even has a back light for easy viewing. The back light is the only thing I wish the DX3R had. The 4PKS is a little heavier than the DX3R. For the money the DX3R is the way to go.

i got rid of my m11 for a 3r and i'm not comfertable with the 3r yet. i used a neckstrap on my m11, so weight wasn't an issue. i miss my m11 but it's getting easer to like my 3r. plus if you go with the 3r, you can use the receiver that you have now.

I had the 3pm 2.4 and liked it alot now I have the MX3 FHSS and like it also. I want to try the 3S next and would take that over the 3R because of the telementry, the extra reciever, and that you can use the older 2 and 3.0 recievers with it too. And I think the S looks better than the R. But I need to say I am more fond of the spring retention in Futaba than the Airtronics, the Airtronics is more twitchy than the Futaba. And I used the same servos on both so it is a true comparison.

If budget no concern, then the M11 is the answer

I have both
Equals.
M11 needs a $60 lipo and a $35 bag.
Dx3R need nothing, small enough to throw in your bag, and 4aa batts last for a couple months. The throttle tension is not adjustable.
I switched to the M11 and have yet to sell my dx3r, it is simply a great radio. The M11 takes up SO much space (it is large).

I use the M11 and once you get used to it, its hard to beat. Best by a mile, IMO.
