the smaller the insert the less air will b allowed into the carb. therefor saving fuel

it will decrease the power and that is the downside of it. i have this engine but haven't broke it in yet. but from what i have seen it should make good power. i will b putting it in a 8b 2.0. i'm not sure if it would have enough power for a truggy though. i haven't seen anyone use it in a truggy.

I am putting it into and 8ight b 1.0 and I think it will have plenty. Can't wait to get mine. Keep us informed on how the break in goes and any tips. Also keep us informed on after break in performance. Any other GRP engine owners??

Just ask about the non-tuned then. If you would go on the GRP engine thread, alan burton posted adam drakes method of breaking in and tuning engines.

Ive got a little more than a gallon and a half through my non tuned GRP, and it seems to be getting faster every tank. It still has a good pinch and plenty of power. I run a dynamite platinum 053 pipe. Run times are not the best, but im running rich due to the cold weather. Its like 35 degrees in the track area. I can get about 8:30-9 min on a tank. When i can lean on it a little, i should be able to get 10 min without a problem.

Good to hear, chris that is what is in the manual but I wanted to know if heat cycle is better. Another thing I would like to know is can I use the same manifold with the 086 dynamite and the 053. I have the 086 but I would like to be able to compare and I dont want to buy a whole nother pipe. Also can I use the 086 manifold with any pipe?

The 086 header is just a bit longer than the 053, but should work fine with that pipe.

I am using a dynamite 053 pipe on my powerhouse modded non-tuned and it is averaging 11.5 min per tank. It's still not broken in fully but I love it. This is by far a better engine than the previous tuned version I ran last season. powerhouseperformance.com - Mark is the best. Very satisfied customer.
