Losi 8 buggies
#2
In SHORT, the race roller and kit are the same. But they have different setups that come with them as the only difference. In VERy short, the 2.0 is the newer, better buggy. No the 2.0 does not come with smart diffs.

The 2.0 isnt really that much of a price hike. For the longest time, the 8ight 1.0 kit was $500-$600. If you go to Carolinasrc, they used to have a huge deal going on. I HEARD one person got the 2.0 for $485 or something in that league shipped from coupon codes, a deal goin on a while back, and free shipping.

I run Losi buggy and truggy, and being able to share some common spare parts is a huge savings if you get into spare parts... I would recommend sticking with one brand for both vehicles for the interchangable parts and also for the similarity in handling characteristics (they are based off the same basic design platform). I have been very happy with Losi, and you can pick up the original verson of bug and trug for a real good price right now if you don't want to shell out the $$$$ for the 2.0, and they are still very competitive vehicles in all but the highest levels of racing.
