Default jr 9100s servo

hey guys i understand i may be posting in the wrong area before i get yelled at im sorry but anyways my problem is this,i have a jr 9100s servo that is giving me major headaches, ive had it hooked up to 2 diffrent recivers,2 diffrent radios, everything is charged up and the servo sits there and flutters the wheels back and forth in neutral position,it turns right and left great but at a stand still it flutters back and forth my guess is the servo has issues,i have written an email to jr but still waiting for a response, has anyone had this same problem and if so whats the cost to repair it,thanks for any help guys

If you bought it new it should have a 3yr warranty on it.
Have you tried it in a different car or truck.

If you can feel play when you rock the servo horn with it off, the gears may be worn out, causing the flutter movement (internal pot is struggling to keep the neutral position with slop in the gear set). At least that what is wrong when the Futaba servos do it.

I had the same problem with mine . There is a support brace built into the top case for the center gear and part of it was chipped off which caused this problem . Sounds like you are having the exact same problem .

i'm using the same servo on both throttle and steering. if you are using a spectrum radio, make sure the frame rate is at 5.5. also i bet the fluttering will stop once the car is sitting on the ground. plus what servo horn are you using? is this in a buggy?

monteman1970,

The inside of the case is broken, that is why it can't find center, send it back to Horizon and they will take care of it for you.

The servo is not 3 years old, call horizon and see if they will help you, if not you can purchase a replacement case.

Happened to me too. Local experienced racer said a piece inside breaks and starts the flutter. I sent it to JR for free repair.

the servo has only been out for about a year, so it's under warranty. never running truggy, i don't know if it has enough torque for it. does the rattle stop if you have the wheels off. i'm thinking the weight of the wheels will cause the rattle. if you can, move the link closer to the center on the horn should help. but i think the servo is too fast and not enough torque for the weight of the tires/wheels.

i've had this same problem that you are describing on my giant scale airplanes when i used digital servos that didn't have enough torque.
