Anyone using the stock losi flywheel? Everytime we try to take the clutch shoes off the small screws that hold them on strip out the heads and we have to dremel slots in them. No loctite was used. Any better options?

Is there maybe a flywheel I can use the losi shoes on?

I had to dremel mine at the track last weekend too. It sucks. If you find an alternative let me know.

Instead of pan head they need cap screws and then a longer clutch bell like the RRP ones maybe. The losi ones are curved before the teeth were the RRP is longer and square cut.

Ive had his stuff before, wasnt too impressed. The flywheel is ment for his springs and shoes though. We are using KHZ losi style shoes.

Does anyone use a 3 shoe buggy setup like a Mugen or Jammin on their 8T? Its gonna be used on a .28 OS. Or maybe some other shoes that last as long as the KHZ?

I use a drop of loctite and only tighten them until they touch the flywheel. Don't even make them snug. Never had one come loose and they come right out.

I run the Fioroni turbo slider on my 8B. I found that the kyosho style flywheel works a little better than the mugen style for clearance reasons. Wouldn't recommend the fioroni clutch for the 8T. Dynamite maxlife clutch shoes on a Kyosho style flywheel is what I'd use with a Mugen clutch bell.

Are you useing the right hex size I think its 1/16. If you are useing metric it will strip every time. I have only stripped one in the past year.

Yeah, I used our Losi Wrenches with the Nitride or w/e coated allen tips.

im guessing your tool is stripped or worn out. The problem is not the screws.

I heard that you can lightly dremel the end that goes in the hole a little. Just sand off a bit of the end of the screw so it doesnt "stick". Just remember not to overtighten the screws. I've had the same problem before.. Just my .02

Its got to be a over tightening issue. I guarantee it. Its actually my brothers. He snugs it down pretty tight because of not using loctite.

i stripped out a lot of screws all over the losi cars including the clutch screws...


i switched to The Proline tools and they work great and i havent stripped ONE screw since
