I think that anywhere BUT CA and FL it's a bit early to see exactly where these trucks are going to be run. The rest of the country is too freakin' cold for any regular racing YET....

There are several around the Kansas City area (well, from KC to Joplin, MO...) and talk of more. BUT, talk is cheaper then purchasing as we all know so I think that it's going to depend on how many locals in a given area are interested! I've got a Robitronics BR50 which I will run as a 'field filler'!

IF I was able to predict the future, I'd say that this class will be come popular at Timberline Raceway in Osawatomie, KS as the plan for the 2009 track involves making it more Short Course friendly to accomodate not only this class, but also Baja 5 Ts and to some extent the Slash and Slayer. This also works well for our resident population of Baja 5 B buggys and therefore makes a lot of sense from a evolutionary standpoint.

I sincerely believe that this class will grow - and pretty much everywhere that the tracks are appropriate for them. I don't think they're going to work or LIVE very well on the large jump supercross style of tracks whick seem to be more and more common for 'big' events. Therefore, it would be logical that 'pockets' of this class would prosper pretty much anywhere the track was appropriate for their use!

Soooo, hopefully some others will chime in here and we'll get a better indication of where these trucks are!

I think the main problem is price...just my opinion if they would have scaled it down like tenth scale and ran 4wd w/.12 motors i think it would have taken off a little better every one could transfer over thier stadium truck running gear. Racing a 2wd10th scale gas truck on an 8th scale track is hard on the truck and the driver.......just my 2 worthless cents

I haven't even seen one yet! I hope someone picks no up at our local track. We have a PMT (Pro Mod Truck) class that it could probably run in.

Default SC8

We got a guy at our track with one,

He put a C6 in it,

They need to make it in a kit version and bring the price down to 400 or so.

But watching him drive it with the C6 is awesome, drifts are a must.

Although they need to rework the front bumper breaks way easy

It's interesting to see how this is evolvoing....

In just one short month we have guys who are now going to BUILD their own SC truck. Here in the Kansas City area it looks like there are going to be 3 - 4 built from Kyosho, Mugen and Jammin' based truggies/buggies.

From what I'm able to understand (and I'll be working closely with the fellow who is building the Kyosho version!) it's not a lot harder then putting buggy arms/shocks on a truggy chassis - do some measurments for body mounts &/or cage mounting and add Associated wheels/tires (I think that the Associated wheel/tire combination will be the 'control' of the class - and should bring the performance pretty close to equal with all of the different brands of chassis). TWALA - SC truck!!!!!

So, from where WE are sitting here in the Kansas City area, looks like there's a good possibility of 4 - 6 hitting the track at Timberline Raceway (http://www.timberlineraceway.com) on opening day - 5/2/09!

Price is going to hurt that truck. $650-700 is a bit much for a up and coming class

But you can get the Electric roller version for $430 now. I would imagine a nitro roller wouldn't be far behind. I'm guessing you could just convert the electric if you wanted. Do like the electric guys do and sell off the electric parts to get yourself a gas tank, radio tray and center diff bulkheads.

And just for arguments sake, how much you got into your MTs? A pretty much non-existent class

Found this on the YouTube:
