Racing a 2wd gas truck, a faster engine will ponly result in more headaches. You need to practice to get better, not a faster engine. Instead, spend that extra money on tires.

So I'm guessing that you have the Mach .15 and RTR pipe. This set-up is already quite good for racing on the dirt. If your planning on just running in the street you have a few options.

Gearing: You can change the clutch bell gear. Stock is a 18 tooth. 19 and 20 are available. About $15 each.

Engine: You have limited gearing options. One way to get more speed is to get an engine that will turn more RPM's. Your looking at $150 plus for an engine that will turn some serious RPM's

About all you can expect is something close to 40 MPH. Stock it runs about 35 MPH.

Losi step pins in red compound work well on most surfaces. Tire selection is better answered by local racers.

Throttle servo should be fine for now. I don't remember for sure but, I think the steering servo is pretty good also.

There are a couple of upgrades that you should do. Is the reciver battery (in the car) pack rechargable or 4 AA batteries in a plastic holder? A rechargable pack is much more reliable and helps the servos work better. The stock RTR plastic rear A-arm mount is prone to breaking. An off the shelf replacement is made of much better plastic.

The stock throttle servo is the JR z270. 50oz of torque.

I had two of these which I brought from brand new and the stock engine/pipe is an excellent combo. If you wanted to change the exhaust the Team Losi tuned pipe works a treat (LOSA9332). For racing I would definately change most of the plastic to the graphite replacements...like the arms, front bulkhead/kickplate/steering brace (all 3 come together), shock towers, even the rear pivot block and the centre brace while you are at it. Make it stronger before worrying about making it faster. The RE.15 is a great motor and easy to tune. Both of my factory throttle servos stopped working and even one of the steering from memory, but there are plenty of cheap reliable servos to put in there. As for tyres see what the local guys are running.
