I'm only interested in getting the inside clean from the previous owner. The crock pot method is probably the only method to thouroughly do this. Why does anybody care what the outside looks like?

So after you purchase and ruin a crock pot or slow cooker and then go out and purchase the full strength antifreeze on top of that, waste the electrical power wouldnt it almost be as cheap to go and buy a new exhaust system? That way you get a new pipe and manifold including new springs, no dents, scratchs from cleaning, and you get to save all the work involved.

Buy crock pot once? Or buy new exhaust every time it gets too dirty? Big picture, long term, me thinks it'd be less expensive to buy the crock pot set up.

crockpot for sure.. I have a cheap 10 dollar one from odd-lots its hold about 4 pipes and manifolds. I soak them on high for 24 hours and they are literally like new, unless its just a plated pipe (like the chrome GRP) for the ofna jp series in chrome or green they will look brand new but the grp it ate all the chrome right off and the pipe looked almost black till I wiped it all clean, but still not chrome anymore. and I use the 100 percent antifreeze and I also keep reusing it. I think I did a set of pipes around 3 times in the same antifreeze.

I spent less on the crockpot at Wal Mart than I did on any single pipe I own... And, am I really the only one with a couple gallons of antifreeze on the shelf to maintain my daily driven 1:1 vehicles? It cost like a total of $18 to clean a handful of pipes inside and out and I can reuse the antifreeze one or two more times. Very cost efective compared to so many other things in this sport.

I use it on my Dynamite 053mr Chrome and My JP2.
The crock pot method really is the way to do it. Gotta watch the fumes.

Crockpot method has been in use for years by RC flyers cleaning engines and exhaust systems. The same antifreeze is good for years, just skim the oil off the top. Straight antifreeze works best. Good old ethylene glycol, not the eco friendly stuff. Do not mix with water. Also best to use on low or medium heat if cleaning engines because someitmes high heat leaves them discolored. I have had the same batch for at least 3 years all I do is skimit and leave the top on the pot when not in use.

While over cleaner works it is also corrosive to aluminum so you have to be careful.

Ultrasonic cleaners work to an extent but there is generally some hand labor involved scraping the loosened crud off spots with an old credit card to keep from scratching the surface.

Thinking about it just now I will try the aitifreeze in the ultrasonic cleaner and see what happens.
