Well I wear a red satin cape w/ gold trim & fringes, a white g string ,and pink wrestling boots w/ tassles. I look like Chris Farley except a little bigger. I also have a 120 lb. rottweiler that wears a small saddle that a monkey rides on. They are my pit crew.

Well I guess I can see that point, but personally if someone at a store insulted my like that I'd make it a point to never shop there. Maybe you could stop in now and then to show them what you bought somewhere else since they acted like that though.

BTW this is your "typical" nitro driver:

No offense to anyone, I own two nitros myself.

Some are, some are not

Wherever I am, if anyone asks me about setup, or wants a chat, providing im not getting ready to get the car out, I will chat.

It's not all just the setup doing the racing, it's the thumbs controlling them too!

All the secretive bit does it ruin the racing. It also shows who is weak minded and thinks once their setup is out, they will get lapped...

Shop elsewhere, hopefully you'll be taken more seriously there....

Don't let that bug you. Most shops just like picking on nitro folks cause the people behind the counter can barely figure out how a wheel works. Nitro is too complex for them. If your into 10th scale, going electric is the better choice. Electric is faster and more reliable in 1/10th scale. If your going 1/8th scale then its nitro due to longer mains with pit stops and even tire changes.

I'll let you in on a rookie secret I learned a while back. All hobbies have some weird people. Weird hobbies have lots of weird people. Rc is a weird hobby. All 3 of me agree.

Ignore the ding dongs ( or join them), run what you want, have fun, don't crash into small woodland creatures. Don't take what anyone says seriously, chances are some one was just messing with you. You'll catch on. We all like to pick on each other.

Hey Joey still rocking out with the cape? I've retired to the great white north. (Indoor racing) I thought the drunk homeless guy who reads a book while he turn marshals was your new pit guy?? I just found out that D12-0 rocket engines fit under the wing of an 808 real nice!

Go into the same shop with a grenade in your hand and the pin in the other and ask them where they would like you to put it!

oh, and when they laught at you trying to get stuff off the top shelf, ask them if the only people that drive (whatever car is in the display case) are people who have the key or something obnoxious.

I've never had that problem though, as I'm 6'7"...

and race both nitro and electric

I have no clue what a normal nitro car driver looks like, As I have only met abnormal ones.
