Default Any American engine builders

I was wondering is there a engine built and designed in the USA? Why has no one done it?

Default motor

I raced boats for years and K&B Manufacturing made boat motors and they are made in the USA and I think they make a .12 buggy motor. I have e-mailed them and asked them why they dont make a .21 buggy motor and have not got a answer from them. I was also told Andy Brown of MAC 21 fame was trying to do an all american buggy motor, the old one was CMB based. I would love to run a motor made in the USA.

He designs, and builds engines, for a living. He works very close with factories on design, and personally assembles every EB Mods engine.

The EBM5 was designed by EB MODS, produced in the GO factory. The engines are shipped in pieces, then assembled by ED here in the USA.

Actually K&B makes an .18 size car engine w/recoil. K&B has never offered a "true" .21 car engine, though they had offered the Marine .21 retrofitted with a large heatsink head for use as a road engine (late '70s). Ran good but the block wasn't tough enough to handle the slamming & banging a car would dish out. K&B blocks are light investment castings intended for aircraft. It's pretty priecy to tool up for a new block design & I don't think MECOA has the pockets to do it. Yep, I heard Andy was working on a car oriented MAC, though like the K&B, Andy is going to need a completely different block design.

FYI - any marine NovaRossi, Picco or CMB based engine is adapted from a car engine (note the big heavily reinforced blocks)

just like toyota and honda, they are assembled in the U.S. But are still considered imports.

But if someone were to produce an engine, Ed would be a reliable source.

actually to get the made in america label it has to be I believe, 80 plus percent built here that includes parts as well. some toyota's are more made in america than a lot of so called domestic. What has the world come too?

I sure would like to see more everything made here..I would be happy to pay more for it but those days are sadly gone.

Outsourcing is the name of the game for most RC companinies. Unfortunatlely every rc motor that I'm aware of is made in Taiwan, Japan etc, and with the current economy I don't see anyone moving there manufacturing here to the good ol U.S. I don't know if anyone has noticed but on most boxes alot of companies are stating designed in the U.S.A. even though it's not produced here.
