Default Starter box lipo ??

I have a blue ofna truggy box that Im thinking about running my common sence rc 8c 4 cell lipo in. Someone told me though that lipos put out too much current for start boxes.

Has anyone had any trouble with frying contacts or switches in this box with a lipo

Using a lipo in this box isnt a problem(I have one also) but I would stay away from anything less than 20-25C. The lower C batteries dont have the amperage capability, I use (2) 25C 5000 packs in mine, same kind as in a slash/electric car. Also you should replace the tamiya connectors with deans fairly soon after running lipos........ it will melt the tamiya's together fairly quickly. Running a relay to power the motors is also a good idea so that the crappy on-off switch and the push-down switch doesnt see all the amperage.

Like this one, http://terminalsupplyco.com/Store/Pr...pc=332+019+110

Here is the main page full of them..... http://terminalsupplyco.com/Store/De.../> Categories

Here are some more, even better ones........ http://terminalsupplyco.com/Store/De...873#Categories

You can get these at most auto parts stores but most will be 30Amp ones, just make sure its not a cheap 20A one. The 30A ones seem to work good. Either way the more amps the better.....

Wiring is pretty basic, The switch in the relay is what powers the motors, the on-off switch and push-down switch are put in series and they power the coil in the relay to make the switch for the motors to work.
