I just rewired the box, switch melted when I used a 4800 mah 20c Lipo ;-) I got rid of all the original wires, switch and contacts and soldered everthing with a set of deans connecting the lipo.

I had a Losi box; gave it away after the motors burned out on me. I went back to my Truggy box. I just thought it was kinda funny that we FINALLY see somebody with a Truggy box on the fritz.

I can't speak for Integra, but I think he was just getting quick jab in for the endless amount of comments about how bad the Losi box is (was?)...

A bit off-topic, but I haven't seen any posts lately about the Losi box... so did Losi get better motors or has everyone just switched to the Truggy box or what?

Mines going on for nearly a year, and is still going extremely strong...

Yea, i figured you two were bashin the Truggy box, that's where my sarcasm came from..there's way too many people who think if Losi dont make it, it must suck. Closed minded individuals who bash everything that's not Losi, or not the brand they use..Not naming anyone in particular..It's just getting really old, and I'm kinda tired of it.

What type relay are people using? Bosch type Starter Relay? That sounds like a good mod.

i hope not 55's....if so if your still in that return window...get some 45's at a minimum...the 55's besically turned too slow...even with lipo power..they are just a little on the slow side for my likings.

I use four pole 30 amp automotive relays. You can buy them
from Radio Shack(#275-226) or any store that sells automotive
fog or aux lighting. The four poles on the relay are numbered.
#87- connects to the Bat.+(pos.) wire
#30/51- connects to the motors +(pos.) wire
#86- connects to the starterbox on-off switch, the wire on the
other wire coming out of the switch goes to the Bat. +(pos.)
wire. #86 can be connected to the Bat.+(pos.) if no switch
is used.
#85- connects to one of the bump contact switch wires. The other
bump contact switch wire goes to the Bat.-(neg.) wire.
The main Bat.-(neg.) wire goes to the motors -(neg.) terminal wire.
Also, if you are using a power panel, make sure that it's +(pos.)wire
gets connected to the switched side of the starter on-off switch or
install a switch to turn the power panel off when it is not in use.
Power panels draw some amperage even when not in use and will
slowly drain your batterys.
I hope you all can try wiring your starterboxes this way. I have been
buying up a few boxes that others said were getting old and tired. After
a clean up and re-wire they are as strong or stronger than new.
Good luck.

rageworks, thanks for the info. It's not hard to tell by looking, that there's a bunch of power loss in the factory wiring and that the switches won't last long. I've got a new ofna box thats getting rewired before it's first use.

If in your search for a relay you run across one that has
five poles, you can still use it. The extra pole will be
numbered 87a. Just don't use this pole at all.
