Default Best engine choice for Losi 8ight-T???

I'm a buggy driver and I've been racing the Cen matrix for about a year now. I have no experience with Truggy's, but I want to get the Losi since you can get the non 2.0 for around $330. I need a filler when I race some of these big races at my local track (revelation raceway). There is just to much time in between qualifiers! Anyway my question is, what do you guys think is the absolute best engine choice for the Losi 8ight-t? I have a Nova Plus 2 367 .21 in my buggy but I don't think it's got enough bottom end for a truggy. I really like the quality of Novarossi, but I was looking at the Werks, Sirio and RB. I may even consider a Picco or Jammin but I'm 100% against O.S. so don't even mention it! I'm not looking to spend over $330 so keep that in mind.

Thanks!!

We have ran a Mach .28, p5x, 421b, in a truggy. The best hands down has been the Go .25, tons of bottom but gets almost .21 mileage, pitting at 7.5 minutes is no problem. All for just over $200.00

Im gonna suggest the mugen jx21 ninja, made by OS.
Or since you obviously don't like os I love the novarossi plus 21-5k in a truggy. Tons of smooth power and you know novarossi quality.

I'm running a $99 Go 3-port in mine and it rips! I'm new to Truggy as well but this engine delivers on our track. Any more power and it would be wasted.

Well, if you are on a tight budget... the Sportwerks .26 V2 ($129 last time I checked) + the backplate to remove the pull start $11.99 last time I checked) and the Dynamite .053 pipe is a good combo, all for under $200 total. Yes, that's a cheap "RTR" engine, essentially the same as the Losi Mach 427. Don't scoff... it's a great engine.

And you said "no OS," But I'm running a V-spec with a 7mm restrictor and the same 053 pipe... all the power I could ask for and 12+ minutes of runtime.

Check out the Trinity Extech .24 engine. It is perfect for truggy and you should be able to pick up a engine and pipe together close to $330.

Above are three high quality engines that would be perfect for your new truck. The price has went up a bit on the GRP's but they are a perfect engine with great power and runtime. On a consistent basis they will most likely get the better run time of most any engine out there. When tuned properly they have as much power as anything, although some racers with limited experience will say they do not.

You can get cheaper engines and some have good luck with them but I would if possible get a well known engine to start with. Here are some codes I was sent via email for carolinas....

The GO .25 is discustingly fast. Bottum of a .28 and rpm of a .21= best of both worlds. Or get the new EBM5 fully race prepped and broke in by EB himself. Its modded bench broke coated crank, pin carb slide. And you should be able to get 1 for that price.

All very good sugestions guys (except for a few that mentioned an O.S.) thanks guys! Has anyone ran else ran one of those GO .25 engines by EB? Sounds pretty interesting for the price! Also, anyone know of a 7 port that has great bottom end for a truggy? I really like 7 ports because they NEVER flame out! Also has anyone come across any of the TUNED Novarossi plus 21-4's? I'm hearing nothing but awsome reviews on that engine!
