Thanks for the info on the V01b. I can't remember why I bought it or when, only that it was a long time ago. I also have an older RB 3 port with a RB 9886 that really hauls the mail. I would like to use a practice engine that's as close to my race engine as possible. I would have to assume the RB is the better choice than the O.S. V01b. I don't like that pressure hose on the O.S., just one more thing to go wrong and suck in air. Since I've already got 3 different 9886 pipes, 2 RB's, one black and one silver, and a Rex pipe/header combo, I'll use those for a starting point on the P5 I guess. The silver RB is the one on my RB 3 port and it's a real powerhouse. Is that V01b worthy of a practice engine or will it seem like a totally different car when I drop the RB or Rex P5 back in? Thanks guys.

I'd have to say, put the V01b on ebay. The engine is ok but from what you've said it might be better to get rid of it. If it's new you actually might get a good price for it.

Yeah, it's NIB still. I just don't like the extra complexity of that crank pressure line running from the carb to the crankcase. Just one more thing to worry about when troubleshooting.
