Why pick one igniter over another??






dont have to charge it. its alway connected to your box. your pitman cant misplace it.


(yea i gotta buy a new one cuz my pitman "misplaced" mine...AND HIS the same day!)

With the rechargeable one you never have to worry about blowin up you plug because too much electricity was running through it. (I've read that some where)

thats kinda what i was thinkin 1.2v vs 14.4v. but haven't airplane guys been doin that for years??? maybe there is a voltage regulator inside?

u need to connect the second type to a glow plug regulator or powerpannel

Get a Hotshot and be done with it. Keep it in your pocket all day unless you really trust your pitman

Team Magic metered SUB-C ignitor
Ofna (I think) AA ignitor
Team Associated D ignitor

i had so much trouble with SUB-C batteries in my ignitors. They tend to die quite fast. Now I use the big D size battery ignitor and love it (got 7000mah battery in it). Lasts ages.
AA is as backup and i barrelly use those two metered ignitors

i use both. ive found that the one you plug into your box really seems to drain ur battery and so for the time you have ur car sittin on the box spinnin wit the plug on ur battery is just dwendling away so i use both and if the box starts to go down i switch to my battery operated one

I absolutely love them. I also have the one that connects to the box but I never use it.

I bought one of the magnums and just replaced the battery that it comes with (1600 mah) to a 3300 trinity cell.
Lasts SOOOOOOO much longer.

The power panel on the starter box doesn't drain your batteries...the motors take way more current than the power panel. The power panel still has a voltage of 12-14.4v at the end...that's 12-14.4v to the glow plug BUT it has very very low current...much much lower than 1.2v ignitors which tend to give as much current as the battery can produce.
Imagine the difference from a small AA battery and the D battery some guys use.The difference in the current could be up to 3 times more.
This can ruin the glow plug any day.
Plus the power panel has a regulator to adjust it according to gel cell and stick packs.
It also has a light that enables you to monitor the "life" of the glow plug...no light no glow!!!!

100% agreed! Aluminum base, no stupid springs and only one moving part. Pay the 40 bucks or so and get the big dog - then forget about it.

You might have trouble with that one. They make a longer one.

Ive had probably 30 different ignitors and the Hotshots are the best ones. There is another brand McDaniel that used to be out that were as good as the Hotshots and could be bought with a meter but I havent seen them online anywhere.

The ones built without removable cells always seem to glow brighter and I usually lose them before they go bad.
