read their page it says it will not work with amb systems and amb will not work with their systems....

teeforb 02-04-2009 11:43 AM

what i read is the following.

• Works with any AMB™ compatible race timing software.

teeforb 02-04-2009 11:44 AM

nevermind, i see it at the bottom... oh well

wallot 02-04-2009 11:55 AM

this is transponder that works with the latest AMB hardware/software

http://rclaps.com/

they can either clone your own AMB transponder so you can have in all your cars cheap transpoder with same ID

or their generic have 10 or 20 preprogrammed numbers that u can change with a button. there is of course a small chance that you will meet someone with AMB number as the preprogrammed one but you can always change it.

for club races you can live with the generic one for big races i would get AMB transponder cloned to be safe and hassle free

I've been using the transponder Wallot mentioned from MRT/Rclaps for over a year now and it works flawlessly with all AMB scoring systems! Easy to set up, 20 pre-programmed numbers to choose from, and you can clone your existing AMB if you like so you only have to remember 1 number for buggy and truggy. Plus...it's WAY cheaper, much smaller and weighs much less than an AMB personal!! Try it...you'll like it.

AMB transponders will not work with our system and our transponders will not work with an AMB.

It means it will work with the same software, the scoring program that counts laps and times.

Software and hardware are two different things. It won't work with the "LOOP" (the hardware) that you cross at our normal races.

That's the way I would understand it anyway.
:)

Teeforb, I paid around $73 for mine. MRT is in England, but the mailing/shipping charge was negligable. It was easily $20 less than any AMB I could find at the time. They really rock! MRT is very well known and used in Europe, but they haven't done much to cultivate a strong following here in the USA. Great products for sure.
