Gas Truck is (was) a drivers' class. It's a shame it's dying out. Almost all the great drivers today (Tebo, Cav, Mayfield, Drake, Truhe, etc) got started in GT, which is why they're so damn good.

If you can drive the wheels off a squirrely, overpowered 2WD, then a 4WD buggy/truggy is a walk in the park

great looking truck, I'd post mine but i just bought it and I'm still getting everything together, hell right now the damn thing run's great , but it needs love , i haven't even gotten the Interceptor body in yet, paint's here , airbrush is dying waiting on it to come in. I'm still looking for the Factory smoothy blue muffler and manifold for side exhaust.

This is one of my babies. Won it's first Trophy in 2007, my first year racing.
Took 3rd in the TN State shootout in 2008.
Hopefully the class will still exist in 2009.

I always think it's kinda ironic that this class is dying out and the Slash is gaining such huge popularity on the premise that's is cheap fun.

Isn't that why most people start in 1/10 GT? Because it's cheap? Relative to 1/8 nitro, I'd imagine it's a bargain. We started running 1/10 GT again after a two or three year drought this last summer and a few of the 1/8 guys that ran 'em were going on and on about how cheap they are to keep running.

I'll post mine up tomorrow when I get some daylight and can snap a few pics. K_B, I think what really killed GT (and 1/10 in general) are 1/8 and truggy. There were just so many more of them and so many people clamoring for bigger air, etc. that the tracks got out of hand and people were tired of breaking. I think truggy also became the 2nd class for a lot of people b/c it's so much easier to run 2 vehicles that share a platform. We may have a revival coming here soon though, I have several friends who have put there's back together for weekend practice 'cause it's so much cheaper than running your 1/8. We also have a track here that wasn't racing and is perfect for 1/10, so in March we're going to start running there once a month. I think we'll bring in some new blood 'cause of the lower costs. Still my favorite class.

Transamman, the Smoothy pipe and header are black anodized, not blue. The very early version was blue, but almost nobody has one. They had problems with the anodizing not sticking and ended up going to a matte black. You'll see when I post pics, looks very trick on the truck.

And gas truck ain't "cheap" like Slash that's for sure. I have the truck, Fu 9402 and 9451 servos, two OS TZ's, 20 or so sets of rear tires and 6 or 7 fronts. I'd hate to add it all up. Most of the Slash classes here are spec, you can change radio and servo, that's it. Hell, I have 2 engines that cost more each than a whole Slash, ha ha ha.

I allways loved 1/10 scale gas truck because you have to drive it. You cant be on the throttle all the time.It takes time to learn to drive well and will make you a better driver.I wish people would drive the class more
