Default Anyone here still run the hyper 8.5 pro?

i bought this in summer 2008 and I know its probably ancient to you guys now, but I had it put like 7 tanks through it and had to step away from rc for a while, is anyone still running this buggy? is it still widely supported? and is it still a competitor?

A buddy of mine just bought the used one that Lester had on his shelf. Also I'm 90% sure that "toofless" will also be running his Hyper this coming season. All in all, I'd almost be willing to guarantee it will be well supported @ Wolcott.

Yes, lot's of issues last year. What with low weekly attendance, most guys "chasing trophies", then the stand collapsing on the last w/end. But Les will be running outdoors this summer. I've heard recently, it will only be twice a month, with track open for practice when not racing, but he will be doing some racing. The N.E.S.S will be going strong, with 6 races ( 3 apiece between the Barn and Wolcott ) , RCDriver's ROC, maybe even another RCPro event...there will be lots of nitro burnin good times this summer However, he did do away with the indoor flashlight facility. I've also heard some other possible plans, but will keep quiet on that for now :P

we need a legit nitro on-road track in CT, the one in bridgeport is shot, the one in enfield is a parking lot converted and enfield is a long ride...

its kinda a hassle driving to long island for a decent track.

Default Hyper 8.5

Back on topic, yes still running it. The thought of getting something else and using a G note to get up to speed has made me rethink if first place is that important. Nice to be there but, if the job goes away, first place won't pay any bills at club racing. Still having fun in the So. Fla. Sun!

Ask and ye shall receive.
There is a place in Chaplin. Here's a link to a thread right here on RCTech

http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-ro...t-weekend.html

There's also a website which I'm sure the link is posted somewhere within that thread

yes.I am runnin my hyper8 it did me well actually still has the original wheel bearings in it it got me 12th in the n.e intermediate pro series and 24 in n.e.s.s. so I cant complain very durable , very low maitenance lol if you know me you would know airhose cleaned only and very competitive as far as I can see if i had better driving skills like some my picco evo 2 2013 pipe and my buggy would almost be untouchable I think nitroob4yuo can vouch for that one
