Default New to racing

OK so there is a track under construction in my town. I plan on helping with the construction and racing at the track. My question is i purchased a buggy 2 years ago but its not the ideal racing buggy.(So i think) Its a OFNA 9.5 Violator. It has a 32 Big block engine with a factory tuned pipe. I also have a Traxxas 2.5R Tmaxx. but that's another subject. But will this buggy of mine be OK to race?

I would say try it for alittle then upgrade. Or upgrade now, that car is a basher. The motor is way too big for a buggy and that chassis is kinda big and out dated too. If you do keep it get some good electronics and a nice .21 engine like the GO TECH 3 port race, a bump box and you will be ok for alittle. Then take all the stuff I just mentioned out put the stock stuff back in sell the car and get a D8 and then your golden. But if you have it like that just get the D8 now from stormerhobbies.com for $309. Trust me
