Truggy Troubles
Make: Losi 8T
Gearing: 16T CB, 46T Spur
Engine: Picco EVO2
Wheels: Badlands
Diffs: 7/10/5
Diffs cases: HD diffs F/R and normal diff in center
Used for Bashing
Problem: Rear end keeps going out. Ran beautifully for about 4 tanks then rear end went out again meaning this is the 2nd or third time. I replaced everything from the center diff to the rear diff, gears, bearings and even the pinon.
Front spins fine rear does not it's possible the problem is in the center diff not sure. That's why I'm asking you guys. Parts are not a problem I have everything. I just need some Ideas.
What it's not: it's not the grub screw that holds the cv to the pinon.

what's going out? The gear striped, case blown out etc??? This is just a guess, but are you landing under throttle?

Now as far as landing under throttle that's possible. Where I am running at is really bumpy. I gets airborne quickly and hits the ground before I can let off the throttle. If it gets good air I'm off of the throttle. I'm assuming the rear diff is fine now and it's the center diff having the problem.

Just a side note to your question Woodchuck. The 1st time it literally ripped the center diff in half. 2nd time there was definitely stripping in the gears big gauge in the large inner gear. Each time I have opened the center diff to find grey pearl fluid.

yea with the center diff being locked up, i would have to agree with it causing the rear diff to go having no sorta dampning when the rear tires hit the ground, and doesn't have the center fluid to absorb some of the shock.
good catch!
