AE used to print the list price on all their boxes & it was usually twice what the shops sold it for.They arived at that price by adding the price of each individual part in the kit together. So yea that is probably what traxxas says the list price is, giving the shop lee way to sell for what they want. M.A.P. is a different story & is the min that shops are allowed to advertise. lots of shops say see actual price in shopping cart only becouse of Minimum Advertised Price.

Pinky, it's just the list/retail price. It has nothing to do with adding the cost of the parts in the kit, it's simply the basis for establishing the prices that hobby shops and customers pay, but it's never used as the selling price. Relax and stop worrying about it - it's about as relevant to the actual selling price as the part number.
