Default losi box failure

I have an 8 box with deans wet noodle and 4 Cel losi lipo. It has treated me good for awhile but this weekend it melted down. I was trying to start an engine that die not want to start. The box motors overheated and something aborted out cause the lipo was drained to 11.4 volts. This really sucks. I charged the lipo and it seems to be ok not bulged or anything but it oft me withoutba starter box at a norcal race 1 of 4. It sucked. I have ordered an ofna truggy box. I am done with this dam losi box easy to change from buggy to truggy but a pain when it melts down.

been there done that.....it sucks...if you have another 4 cell to compare to....the Hurt one will pull a Tiny bit less RPM....Mine does at least....back to back with a BN pack.

I posted in an "Ofna Truggie Box Problem" thread awhile
back on how to install a 12 volt relay in any starterbox.
A relay does help solve most of the problems that happen
with starterboxes. But won't fix the problem with the original
Losi starterboxes that came with underpowered sub-standard
motors. They have got to be the most bottom of the barrel
550 motors ever made.

The Traxxas 23t motors are a bit too wide for the box if you want proper belt tension but I managed to get them in there. Installing the Losi pulley's to the Traxxas motors required some pounding. I did drill/tap them with a 3mm set screw so they're certainly not going any where but since they're pounded on they aren't re-usable. All in all I would just stick with the stock Losi motors and maybe use a friends Ofna box for breaking in engines with a lot of pinch.
