Default Is this how the leads and chargers work?????

Sorry evevryone I am on this whole battery charger kick. I just want to make sure that I understand how this works. Here is how I think it works.

This charger http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/26108 has the bananna clips and you attach the bananna clips to the ends of this lead http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/29230

From the pictures it looks like the squid leads would connect flush to the charger as a plug in but thats not the case. The bananna clips actually attach to leads and are somwhat exposed like jumper cables to a battery. Is my thinking correct on this.

The gator clips on the charger are for connecting to a DC power source. The banana jacks on the Squid plug into the other side of the charger.
