What do you want to do with the car/truck ? Race bash ? Do you want ground clearance or speed?

stay away from traxxas and to get a good car you may have to spend more than that. I was in the same bought you were and realized to get quality you got to spend. Look at 1/8th truggies.

oh ok well then maybe traxxas is ok but hpi firestorm is very nice also. I had one and it drove very well. It has pull start but if you know how to maintain it it is fine.

the traxxas is probably gonna be the most durable of the 2wd gas trucks...for sure not the fastest or best handling, but since they are geared more for the backyard basher they are made quite tough

if you just want balls out speed, look into an XTM nitro xcellerator. fastest 2wd rtr ive driven. cheap and parts are dirt cheap. got some good reviews in the mags. and ive driven one to a number of victories against rc10's and the losi's, handle really well out of the box...they are sold by hobbypeople and i think tower carries them also

I have an older Traxxas Nitro Sport, as it was my first nitro vehicle, and it has survived some NASTY hits. Very durable. Not the fastest or the best handling, but very durable.

I've heard about Duratrax's that have broken apart withing 20 minutes of them being opened and ran, personally I would avoid them.

There is nothing wrong with Traxxas. I'm not sure why people get so negative about them. If I were bashing and wanted nitro I would put a Slayer or Revo on my list for sure. The Slayer would be good fun actually. Traxxas is durable and the parts are cheap. Don't listen to the Traxxas haters, they just hate on them because they're mainstream.

I broke my Mugen MBX6 nearly that fast too.... I guess no one should buy a Mugen either. I heard... I heard..... Gawd bless the internets, a place where people can post their useless opinions at will.
