A couple of pics of the engines.

If those are Novarossi based engines, I'm sure it will be a winner.

Im digging the filled crank, and the Nova logo on everything...not a big fan of cast aluminum crankcases though, they break/crack too easy..

5 Ports?

Marcus Falconie 01-26-2009 03:28 PM

Colin, can you PM me with the price, I know it's going to be high it looks like Nova's best internals.

It is a 5 port, with all of Nova's finest internals.

The case is the same as Nova's cases, there will be no issues with it.
In fact, every single engine made has a cast case. ;)

I have been running the 9901 on mine, and I will test a 053 tomorrow.

The 9901 is nice and smooth and is a very good all around pipe for this
mill. I can't see the 053 being any better, but I have been told that it
is even better than the 9901.

I will report back tomorrow about the pipes.

Jaz240 01-26-2009 04:20 PM

Give us some run times also...

There are different types of cast aluminum...the pocked textured ones like the one SIIM uses, seems to be bad luck for me, (mounting tabs crack)

as appossed to the smother higher density ones like OS uses

We have been getting 9.5-10 minutes on ours with a JP-3 and a 9901 pipe. I am going to try a 053 tomorrow as they are supposed to be even better.

I have never seen a Nova Rossi break it's case, OS on the other hand.....;)

ezveedub 01-26-2009 04:29 PM

Looks like a Plus 21-5K with filled crank. I was hoping for a 3 port.

You are getting the same run times with the JP-3 fuel hog pipe as you are with the 9901?:weird:

Actually, the JP-3 was just over 9 minutes and the 9901 is just over 10. I will do some mileage tests tomorrow between the 9901 and the 053 and see what I can come up with. ;)

Great price on this mill, very fast, Colin, let me know the results you get from the 9901, do you have a 9853, it would be nice with it.

Brian, I have an Ofna 053 that I am going to try.

Marcus Falconie 01-27-2009 01:56 PM

siim

You can get siim in the USA

C Branch 01-27-2009 04:54 PM

Well, I just got back from a day testing/practicing and the results are impressive!!
I had been running a 9901 on the engine and the best run time I had gotten was 10:20.
I switched to a 053 and run time went up to 11:45.

Temps were 230 when it finally ran out of fuel. It actually felt a little rich on the bottom, so there may be even more in it. :)

Jaz240 01-27-2009 07:18 PM

How was the performance with the 053 compared to the 9901?

were you running at hobbytown?

C Branch 01-27-2009 07:22 PM

Yes, Hobbytown.

I feel like the 053 had more power through the whole powerband. It was very linear like the 9901, but it was faster from bottom to top.

I will be sticking with the 053 from now on!!

HaulinBass 01-27-2009 09:07 PM

Colin Very interesting can you send me an Email [email protected]
Would love to see a 3 port with the same novarossi's best approach as well.
