DS are air servos. Z9100T all the way or in a buggy S should work

air = servos for plane/heli use. Z servos are for surface use. surface specific servos should handle all the vibrations/abuse in offroad vehicles way better

I have ran the 9000 9100 S&T Servos for a few years, and the 8711 as well, Great Servos, Cannot beat the warrenty, had good luck with ACE as well. I would reccomend the JR servos. They are good.

like wallot said, the DS series are intended for aircraft, but they can be used in cars as well. If you look at the specs on them, the 8611 is a 9000T, and the 8711 is essentially a 9100T, but the DS series also have longer wires, i believe 3" longer.

I've only used the 8800S and 9000S in my 8ight buggies since the car came out, never had any issues with the "S" series for steering.

thay are the same as Lars says above. just letting you know that helicopters will eat servos faster that off road will ever do. it's because of high frequency vibrations that heli's generate. and you won't see hitec servos in that many helicopters because of the vibration issue.

that makes sence

ok to be precise. 8711 and 8611A are plane servos and they cant be exactly the same as the 9711 has 403oz/in of torque compared to 370oz/in in Z9100T and DS8711 is .06oz heavier

Shag I think what you decide is the only thing thats really going to matter when it comes down to it. What your going to want to spend and what your looking for in a servo. Jr has just done very well for a lot of us and we stick by our Jr stuff, as Jr sticks by their product and are very easy to deal with if something does happen. Who not to say you buy one or the other and never have a prob with what you buy, but then whos not to say you buy one or the other and it dosnt work out for you. It really just comes down to how much you what to spend on servos.I know not everyone like Jr, hitech, airtroics, and so on. I just know what i know from using Hitech and switched to Jr and never looked back.
