Glow ignitor not staying on

As the title says my glow ignitor wont stay on when i pull on the pull start, after a couple pulls it pops off! it did this before and i put another spring from another ignitor on there and it worked, but now i have two springs on one ignitor and it wont stay on!

Any one know the problem?

Your glow plug has too much lube on it and you need to do a one-handed cartwheel before you start it.

Yea that's an easy fix. What happens is your probably jamming your glow ignitor onto the plug and that's straightening the tip of the glow ignitor (which if you look closely is suppose to be bent) to help hold onto the plug. Just take a good needle nose plier and bend the tip of the glow ignitor so that it's about 45 degree angle and that should fix it.

Interesting thread. I was thinking of switching to a twist-lock ingitor..

i got 1 twist lock but it dosent work on my turbo plug so i think ima get a diffrent one for that car but who knows i know after a while they wear out so that could be your problem

get rid of the cheap glow igniters and get a hobbico super hot shot 2 the best i have ever used by far!

Hot shot wont lock on to all plugs, but I agree its by far the best I have used.

I might consider a hot shot, but i like mine because it takes a rechargeable D batt or a alkaline, so if it dies i just pop an D alkaline in there and bam
