Default Losi Eight to Corr conversion

I decided I wanted to run this class but didn't want to run 2 brands of vehicles. I decided to convert a Losi Eight to an SC8-CORR type truck.
I finally got all the parts and have finished the front end. I used the SC8 parts for the bumper and for the most part mounted pretty easy. I had to drill 2 holes in the shock tower to mount the bumper brace and dremel the skid plate where it slides between the chassis. very easy.
Here is how it looks.

I bought one of the Eight buggies they were closing out due to the 2.0 at a great price. I found a guy selling 8T chassis for 29.99 on E-bay. He had a couple left, just search 8T chassis. I needed shock towers, center drive shafts, fuel tank and the shock mounts for the lower rear a-arms. I am finding the Asociated SC8 bumpers mount on with minor modifications. I painted the body while I was waiting for the parts to come in. I cant wait to run this. I drove my friends and was hooked. If you haven't tried one you must.
I post more as I get it finished, hopefully by this weekend.

Just got the rear end done and the bumpers mounted. Again it was pretty easy. The lower end of the mount screwed directly to the hinge pin cap screws and I drilled 2 holes in the shock tower for the top of the mount. That was pretty much it.

is the buggy chassis to short? is that the reason you got the 8T chassis? i figured shocktowers to mount the body but the chassis?

Yes the buggy chassis is too short. This is basically a truggy with buggy arms to make it narrower to make the wheels fit under the body.
Overall it was much easier than I thought it was going to be. my friend has a CEN and did the same thing and said it was also very easy.
I cant wait to get it to the track!

So now I'm kinda sorry I bought an SC8 I thought about doing this with my 8 buggy, but when I priced everything out, I think the total came to around $300 for everything if I bought it all from a hobby shop (didn't even think to check Ebay).

How much you got into it so far, if you don't mind me asking?

To be honest I dont really know. Some guys at the tracl donated some parts like the shock towers. I'd say about 200.00 in parts. But it is a Losi like my other vehicles and it goes right on my starter box... Priceless

Looks real good so far........

Definitely keep us updated on this as I along with many others would probably like to copy your idea.

When you get done a complete list of parts needed to convert it over would be sweet so we all could know what to order.

Keep up the good work.

Will do. I wish now I had kept the parts bags so I could give part numbers.
I just got the body mounts I am going to use. Someone else doing this found these at the hobby shop and they look like they will work real good. They are square and the holes line up with the holes in the shock towers.

1 thing i would suggest...the rear bumper mount...where you drilled the holes in the tower......Back up those cap screw's with washer's.
