Default 08 Swedish Champ Christoffer Svensson goes AE

posted in Neo-Buggy.net

AE - Failed in 08' got him in '09
2008 Swedish Champion Christoffer Svensson has switched teams; across the Pacific from HoBao in Taiwan to Team Associated in the US. The 17-year-old Swede only recently moved from RB to OS engines, coupled with an attractive offer from AE, Svensson conveyed his eagerness in joining such an established company, rich in RC heritage. He added Associated's formidable set of team drivers was a key reason in joining; to learn and work with the likes of Maifield, Cavalieri, Batlle...the list goes on.

Whilst speaking with Svensson he wished the following to be posted, "I would like to thank everyone at HoBao for their support, hard work over the last year, Daimler, Spencer & Elin - many thanks. Also, Tim Bump, Jeremy Kortz and your mechanic, Jaaayy Nelson. Special thanks to Brent and Saxton for this chance, I can't wait to get practicing and dial in the RC8, should be a great year!"

Svensson's career, although still early days gathered momentum in 2008, as he dominated the XRAY Challenge in April, and did the traditional double of winning the nationals and Swedish Cup as well. He was originally picked up in 2005 by talent spotter Fredrik Mathiesen to drive for Kyosho Sweden, results soon followed and HoBao came knocking at the end of 2007 eager to sign this young gun. Svensson reunites with former HoBao teammate Robert Batlle at Associated.

hell... I think that AE has put together the best team around here in the US and Europe, way to go AE!! as far as HoBao Racing, well.. they have a great racing team in Australia, one good driver in Europe with Hazelwood and MR. can't finish a race here in the US with Kortz... maybe just bad luck in the big events..
