Actually, the race roller comes preassembled. There is no building required.

Yea, kit means you have to build it. race roller bascially comes prebuilt, just paint the body and go! The 8ight T right?

The Mach 427 is actually a great RTR engine! Although it is a fuel hog, like only getting 7 minutes a tank on a track, is pretty powerful for a RTR engine.

As far as servos, you could keep the original servo in there for a while. it comes with the JR 650M servo, so you can use that for steering. Look for something 175+ oz, .20- torque for a price that you feel comfortable paying. (should be around $80) Then switch the 650M to throttle and use that steering servo. You can get soem good used servos off ebay and rctech forums though pretty cheap.

7-10-3 or 7-10-5. 7-10-5 is what the roller comes with. I would start there.

this is the basic setup I run

ME?? I run all .21 engines.

I also run 20%. there are pro's and con's of both 20% and 30%. #05 will make slightly more power. 20% makes plenty of power, makes engines last longer, is easier to tune, and gets better fuel milage.

Sorry, on your set-up sheet it said novarossi .28 so I thought thats what you ran. I would just to like to say you have been very very helpful. I have decided to get the rtr 8ight at the beginning of february and when race season starts I will get new servos and maybe a new engine depending on how I like the stock one. Thanks again to you and chris rc!!!

He said that was the basic setup he had. he does not use that engine in the setup.

20% is all you need. Look at losi Nitrotane, Byrons, and ODonnell.

No problem man. Yeah that setup is mike truhe's setup. I just run his chassis/suspension setup not the running gear.

I have experience with the RTR also. The engine will treat you well. It is good enough untill you need to replace it anyway. Probably 5+ gallons down the road if taken care of properly.

The only thing I would reccomend is upgrading the steering servo to one of the ones I listed. Then put the stock steering servo(jr 650) into throttle.

Problem is that the stock throttle servo might not last for a month.

Is that the Z270 or the Z590M that comes on throttle?
