Default RB C6BB7T

Hey guys, I am currently using this motor with the stock medium turbo plug and 20%. I am going to start using 30%, I added the necessary shims. The medium glow plug barely lights up. Ive always used hot in my other motors. Will I be ok with a hot plug and the 30%?

Can I use anything other than a RB plug?

RB C6 whole season #6 or in hot weather 7# on 25% nitro. You can use O'Donnel Plugs

When you say barely lights up are you referring to. plugging the plug into your glow igniter while it's out of the engine. If this is the case you may want to check your igniter. You may already know this but a glow plug does not get hotter after engine is started. However hot the igniter fires the plug at the start will be the heat while running. If your running the RB #6 that plug lights up very well and is perfect for your C6. The plug may be on it's last leg.

Yeah compared to other glowplugs Ive seen. And ive been in RC for maybe 6 years. This plug looks very dim, almost have to put your hand over it to be able to see it. Ive always used hot plugs. Im sure its on its last leg then. I just charged the glowstarter and checked other plugs with it. This plug is from the motor being new through breaking and has about 1.5-2 gallon on it.

+1 on the RB #6 and 25% . I have never had a plug last so long as a RB #6 with no tunning issues. I changed one plug in two months of racing, and I only changed it to be on the safe side before I started the Amain at a big race I was in.

Isn't the rule of thumb to run a colder plug with higher nitro?

Plugs usually need replacing after break-in as they are stressed a lot.

Break in is hard on plugs. I would changing it anyway you ran that plug really rich for the break in process. Then used it for almost a 2 gallons I would say it's done. From my RB experience that's generally how they go. They don't flame out all at once they just lose there light like a flashlight going dead.

basically I need to know if it will hurt the motor with a hot and 30%?

The C6 is designed to be used with 20%. I just don't see the need to run 30% in this motor. Mine is plenty fast.

I need more low end out of it. Its in a 8T. And you can never have enough power.

What pipe are you running on it? Mine with a 2045 is too soft but with a JP4 is a beast.

Dynamite 053 Mid. My LHS told me to use it.

The 053 is a nice compliment to the C6, but you'll get a better bang with the RB 2045 pipe with a RB 192 header. I run this combination in my RC8T and its totally controlable and has all the bottom and topend you'll want. I run mine with a 7mm carb insert and get a 10,5 minute run time with it easy. I also run med-hot plug with mine. My engine runs a consistant 180-200 degree's in the summer or winter. My current C6 has 7 gallons through it and still runs strong. My opinion is that the c6 is the best .21 for a truggy. I've tried them all and this is the best for me.

What gearing you use on the RC8T?
I know the diffs are the same on these cars.
My 8T is 13/48
Mine runs about 210 in the winter in the inddor track. When outside I put a sock on it because it wont stay warm enough.

I have the big 9mm restrictor in it. I think its 9, w/e is the biggest available I bought.
I use a fironi clutch system with the regular turbo carbon shoes. I tried numerous metal shoes and never had any luck with wear. These show no wear still.

That pipe is only available in polished aint it? I love the hard coat pipes. Maybe I'll try it. I just got a Odonnell plug, med/cold 99T and its way brighter than my RB6 was.

You got this header right?
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/5006
a 92mm not a 192. Or they have the 98 for top end
