I was all excited to take the buggy down there this weekend and just run on the track some.. Guess it will have to wait a few weeks longer. Stupid city and their permits.

NO not stupid city. When you do things on the up & up it takes time. I would rather have the city behind us and helping us than starting a war you CAN'T win. Just go and glue up some tires or Scare the dogs in the back yard.

I wasn't endorsing trespassing to run on this track before it was ready by any means - follow the laws and let the process work the way it should. However, talking with the guys at Space Coast Hobbies, they "broke ground" on this whole thing last March, almost a year ago. Prior to that it had been in the planning stages for over 3 years waiting on all the permits and red tape. It was all a go until somebody balked and put this whole thing in purgatory. I work for the (federal) government, so believe me, I understand bureaucracy but in this case I don't know if the city is helping resolve things or holding things up.

It just amazes me that they can clear all the paperwork for a new housing subdivision in record time while hundreds of houses sit empty because it will bring in taxes, but something like this can fall through the cracks and be delayed endlessly. That's my frustration. /Rant off.

Default Palm Bay Rotary Action Park

My name is Jason Jones. I am the President of Action Youth Mentoring. I wanted to take this opportunity to bring everyone up to speed on the park so that things are not misrepresented. Action Youth Mentoring is a non for profit corporation under IRS 501C3. We have a lease for the property and have strict codes and plans that haved to be followed. Although we wish it was simple to just build a track, drivers stand, ect., There are still a lot of things that have to be completed before this is brought to life. I appreciate all of the support, I just want everyone to understand that with our economy things take time. We are close to opening the first phase of our facility which is a NBL sanctioned BMX track. Once the track is open we will alocate funds from the BMX portion to finish the RC portion. Space Coast Hobbies is the official hobby store of Rotary Action Park. Action Youth will offer community related functions at the entire facility, including the RC portion. We want everyone to be able to equally enjoy this track, not mention, that is why it is being built, for the community. PLease visit the web site at www.getintheaction.org for weekly updates. Thanks for the support!
