Default Ofna Warranty Service? Any experience?

The Macstar 28 in my new Hyper 7 PBS is dead after 10 tanks/3 days. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, but no one at our club can get it running and keep it running... I want to send it in.

Thanks,
Dominic

Send it in! OFNA service is awesome. Call them first so you dont forget to send something. I think they require original receipt and item. Be advised that they will not cover your mistakes. If you ran the engine at 500 degrees, or didn't break it in properly, they are not going to send you a new engine. They will inspect it, and if they determine factory defects, they will send a new one. Good luck

Great! I followed the break-in instructions to a tee, heat cycled three times, left the needles very rich and varied the throttle afterwards. Just 1/4 gallon into it, it's not running well at all.

I've had nitro airplanes for years and it seems like there's an air leak somewhere. The pullstart broke immediately so I'm going to replace it with a new back plate and see if the air leak was coming from there.

Be advised that once you try to repair it, you may void any warantee

I dont know if they are so willing.. i bought a Jammin .21 and only had 10 tanks through it and had a bill of sale to show i bought it only 3 days prior and the rear bearing went on it, not falling apart but major noisy and they told me "No you will have to purchase one from your local hobby shop" So much for thier warranty and support of thier products.

So your advice would be to send in as-is, with broken pullstart? I can do that as well.

I would put a new pull start on it, and then send it, dont try a different backplate, dont try to seal up any air leaks. just replace the broken pullstart and if that dont solve the problem, send it in.

But my first advice would be to call them and see what they say, the people there are all nice guys, very helpful. Explain whats wrong, and ask them what you should do

Got it, thanks. I will call them and see what they say. Isn't one of their techs here on the forum?

3 or 4 years ago I bought my first x1crt-rtr which came with a force.28 engine. At aprox. 1 1/2 gallons the rod broke. When I contacted Ofna they encouraged me to send them the motor back along with $50.00 and they would replace it with a new one. They did
