A mate of mine has just purchased the "7" limited edition engine, and needs pipe recommendations. The engine is based on the S7T, with turbo plug, 7 port. RB recommend their 2045 and 92mm short manifold, but we're just wondering if there are any other options available to him.

The engine is going in an Inferno ST-R, to run on a medium to large track, so we're thinking a good allround performer, with good accelaration aswell as good mid to top end.

That engine also loves the JP-4. It is powerfull at about 20% RPM. This means that with small inputs you will not break loose but when you give it a little more it will really come alive.

The 2045 is good but for truggy I like the JP-4 better. The power seems easier to apply and the run time is just as good. On the straigt it will be a beast.

Might give the JP-2 a look as well.

Yep definately the JP-4, I was using that pipe for the QLD state titles last year and like 'Tex' said great run times and quick down the straights.....real quick. The "7" is a great motor I have been also using the JP-3 for a few race meets and it it awesome for low through mid range and not nearly as much top end as the 4 but still enough for the straights.

Hey thanks for that, I'll let him know.

Is there anything else we should know about this engine, like any quirks it may have, and performance wise, is much different than the usual RB S7.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

RB's like to be a tad rich on the bottom. Take your time with break in. As it will not show you it's real power until after 1 gallon. Long break in coincides with a long life on RB's. Trust me you have a very good engine take care of it and it will last a loooooong time.

This motor I have used in my X1 BCE truggy and the X-Ray 808 buggy.
I have to of these engines and it is the best RB engines i ever had.
The pipe i was most satisfied was the 2045 with 92 mm.
The JP 4 was also wery good but used a little more fuel.
I have tried all kind of glow plugs and ended up with a OS P3 plug.

can someone tell me what each RB pipe was for like bottom,top,midrange i know about manifold lengths just not there pipes
