Default Which pipe do you use for a vspec?

I am using a jp-3 on my eb mods vspec, its great. Also i have been reading reviews on the o.s. 2060 pipes saying people added 2 mins into their run time with this pipe in comparison to others. Just a little question, i have a stock vspec i got with a eb mods 2045 pipe for free, read some stuff about it and it says made for the vspec. I was wondering if this would be a better pipe for the eb mods vspec?? and then put the jp-3 on the stock? I get about 8 min pit time with stock vspec with eb mods pipe. Not sure with the eb mods with the jp-3 yet.

i run the eb with 2045, and the power is great, runtime maybe not so great.
but give it a try, you got nothing to lose.

go with the o.s. pipe ..you may have to break the piggy bank but it will work best on a v-spec ....

Nitroracer,

I used to run an OS 2050 with the eb mods v-spec and was happy, until I changed to the jp-3. I liked the power band better for the local track and did not see any noticable decrease/increase in run time, but was probably not looking as the pit time I use is around 7 - 9 minutes. Remember, your run time will be greatly affected by how hard you are driving. I have finished a 10 min heat on a single tank with the stock V-Spec and 2050 by being far out front and taking it easy.

What was the point in asking this question, you're already sold on the JP3 pipe as far as i can tell.
Unfortunately for you, if you want the best pipe for the v-spec in most conditions you will have to take the 160$ 2060 pipe into consideration It has the smoothest most controlable power of all the pipes i've tested without feeling weak or choked.
You get incredible top speed and the most run time of all the pipes that i've ever tried on a Vspec.
just to let you know i'm speaking from first hand experience, I've owned the JP-3 and 4 pipes but sold them after running the 2 O.S pipes they are the only pipes i run with my O.S engines.

Yea, i currently run a JP-3, but i am considering a 2050 or a 2060, both get better runtime over the JP-3.

A buddy of mine ran the thunder tiger pipe with good results!

The EB mod pipe has TONS of power from what i experienced! thats a good pipe as well.

If you want 10+ min run times and tons of bottom end the 2050 is the pipe to find.

The JP3 is a great pipe for the V Spec in truggy. In buggy I am using a JP4. I can hit 9+ minutes with it. Easily over 11 in the truggy.

I have used the AE 2035 as well. I really liked the power band with it but I need to play with tuning a bit. I could only et 8 minutes in the truggy with it on the same engine, same track, same day.

Thumbs up Vspec pipe alternative for OS 2050

Losi RE-11 at $65.00.

The shop I run for gets new pipes in all the time. I try and test every one of them and keep them so customers know what works and what does not before they make a purchase.

I too saw the double welds. They I used a little thought and questioned if Losi had done what I thought they had done. Very popular pipe discontinued?? I would have cloned it too.

With my 2050 sitting on the table.
I first measured the entry convergence cone. Perfect match.
I then probed the positive convergence cone. With a probe the measurements were a perfect match.
I could not measure the third chamber without cutting the pipe.
I measured through the cones holes and got a perfect match for the front of the pipe's inner walls. Perfect match.
Stinger ID matched.
Water displacement volume was the same as well.

I put it on a properly tuned Vspec in my car and just switched pipes. Not headers... OS sold the 2050 with two different headers so I used the same header for both to get the pipe comparison.

No change in tune... run temp within 2 degrees... exact same run time of 11.5minutes.

I would say it is pretty close but with better finish and damn good price to boot.

Without a Dyno this is the best I can do and share. I would like to see it on a dyno though.

This is the pipe I now run all of the time. Now they need to clone the 2060.
$165.00??? Are you freaking kidding me?

Hope this helps,
TEX
