I know it's been asked, but I had to get a fresh thread......

I was looking at the GO .28, or the Jammin .28, but I am seriously clueless when it comes to nitro engines. I know my OS V-Spec .21 in my RC8 is killer, but I don't want to spend $300.

Any suggestions? I don't want to spend over $200

MARKHAR250, I have not ran alot of .28 engines but the best .28 engine I have ran for truggy is the jpx.28 engine. It has alot of bottom end and great top end. I had aprox. 9 gallons on my jpx.28 before I bought a GRP.28. The only thing I did to the jpx.28 is install ceramic bearings at aprox. 2 1/2 gallons. Not because they failed but I figured if I changed them I would get more engine life. The jpx.28 has great power and descent run time for a .28. I ran a fironi turbo clutch, jp3 pipe, novarossi c5 glow plug and byrons 30% fuel. This engine is still running awesome. Infact 3 weeks ago I tore my engine down to find that my piston and sleeve was in great shape. No b.s it still has a small amount of pinch. AMAIN HOBBIES has this engine for $200.00 This is A great engine.

my uncle has the Go .25 on his Hyper ST Pro and that thing rips, stupid bottom end with nice top, good run times as well, I haven't seen the Go .28 in action but I'm sure it's a great engine as well but I would go with the .25

i have jammin .21 and its ballistic but IMO go with the jammin .28 but if you a engine with crazy power and torque go with the LRP.28 you need prozak for that thing...friend of mine have one his truggy and it kills

The Go .25 6 port race is a beautiful thing because it has all the characteristics of a .28 but .21 runtimes. And this mill has more than enough torque, I belive all you need is a .21 but if you want to go bigger get the .25. I ran the Go .21 5 port in my truggy last year and it had more than enough power. The .25 has more power than the LRP and is cheaper to work on than both of the other mills mentioned.

Guys....thanks for all the input!!

I don't want to turn this into a .21 vs .28 thread either. I think a .21 is a great power plant for truggy, but it seems you first need a really good .21, and second you beat the hell out of it cuz you're pinned all the time. I'm just looking for reliablity, and a .28 that I won't beat into the ground after 2 gallons.

I've heard the Jammin is a good engine, and a few here agree. I just want the thing to start and not looking for the fastest .28, just most reliable. I will race this maybe once a month, buggy is my first priority.

Those already mentioned are all excellent choices. But since you ask for others. Take a look at the Trinity Ex Tech .24. I've been running the .21 in my
CRT and am very happy thus far. I've also heard lots of good feedback on the Dynamite .28. Good Luck whichever you choose.

Is the JPX .28 and the Picco P3 .28 the same engine?

I heard that Jammin IS Picco or something to that effect.

Trying not to thread jack, but do the .21's get better fuel mileage than the .28?
