Default noob with a question

Im putting together my new buggy ... first one... decided against a RTR .. anyways .. i got a gs cl 1 kit... but i figure its all about the same ... let me explain the spring thats in the steering assembly... whats the trick on compressing that enough to screw the nut on the top?? i have been trying for awhile now and cant seem to get it on there....

Shouldn't be that tough but you can try taking 2 med zip ties and on each side of the spring compress a couple of coils. It should give ya enough to start the nut. Once you got it started, just cut the ties away.

I don't have a trick, but you might want to make sure that the threads aren't left handed threads...........I honestly can't remember if mine were, but just thought of it and I'm not familiar with your kit so it may be something to check out..........if it's NOT left handed thread, you'll just have to push hard....
