Default Outdrive endplay

I have what I feel to be excessive endplay on the out drives of my diffs (RC8).I would like to know what causes this and what fixes it. Feel like it may start with the bearing sand then move to the o-rings, just not sure.

There are the super thin shims that ride between the diff housing and the bearing. Or are you talking about end play at the pinion and center driveshafts?

end play on the out drives will happen over time.. those little out drives take a lot of punishment.. it not unrealistic to replace them once a year. IMO
