I can think of two reasons.

1. The new one is coming out and they want to blow out the old inventory.

2. Sales are slow. They sell the kit for a low price and hope you will buy a radio, engine, pipe etc (higher profit items). Just be aware with Losi's agreement, they can not sell below a certain price. Losi must have approved.

Oh man that bites. I have been looking for one and checked A-Main two days ago hoping to get a good deal. They recently dropped the 8b to $299 and I was hoping they would for the T too. They didn't even have the truck listed two days ago, so I made a trade for one.

Ah well some others will certainly benefit from that awesome price. With their discsount code (JJDPP825) you can get that for $275

That looks like a great price, only about $600 landed here. (australia)
But isn't a race roller half way between an RTR and a Kit?
Or is it just a kit thats been half built?
I can never be sure but if its a pre built kit then at that price it'd be worth trying out the Losi for sure!

For Losi, their "Race Roller" is the highest level set they sell. It is pre-assembled and you just add radio equipment and an engine/pipe and it's done.

Although I'd suggest going through it to check the fluids and fasteners anyway

Losi doesn't put out any unassembled kits for the 8ight b/t line.

the losis are good performers at the track no doubt ....kyoshos are prime but you have to buy so many things for them out of the box ...captured hinge pin sets and braces all around ...the thing that draws me to the jammin is the durability and the quality of the hard anodized stress parts ...i mean i saw my boy at the track go through like 2-3 sets of "upgraded" front knuckles ....at 70 bucks a set before he just dropped coin on the fioroni knuckles ...but jezz the jammin stuff is good and durable right out of the box ...i replaced a few things with kingheadz stuff just because of the set screws in the hingepin holders ..but the brand new holders on the jammin are more than good to handle the job .....team losi sport junk ....ha ...really losi makes awesome products ...the 8 and 8t are the single reason why everyone changed there designs over the last 2 years

They just want to get them out of innovatory. People are willing to save $200 bucks on an older kit so they are able to get the kit. Same reason why I bought a MBX-5 instead of the MBX-6, just to save some money. Its better for them to sell for less and get some money instead of nothing. Hmmm im temped
