Default engine choices on truggy + maintenance

Ok well i got a losi 8ight-t and i wanna rebuild it and put a new engine on it.

The engine that i wanna get is a .21. Im debating on either the .21 go 5port or vspec. What do you guys rec. between these two engines.

and for maintenance, what need replaced?? im know bearings on all 4 corners and then the diff bearings. Anything else that gets slop? any recommendations would be great

I recomend the Go 5 port turbo with either the Go 0801 pipe or the dynamite 086. Power is similar I belive if broken in properly a Go will outrun a v-spec, my PTM 5 port in truggy was never pulled on the straight even against High end .28's. And you can get the motor and the pipe and still have $50 left over compared to the stock V-spec. And I belive you will have more longevity out of the Go also if broken in poperly.

Default 25 go

the 25 go is the best no other motor comes close other than the axe 25

Get the 2.0 steering gear to fix slop issue. I would get a RB S5 if you had an old RBWS7III i would say replace the sleeve with a modded S3 and hold on for dear life.

p.s. I got the 2.0 steering gear off ebay for $12

hey where did little hulkster go

i have run all the gotechs except the .25,.28 ......the gotech 3 or 5 port would be a great choice ...but are tricky to tune ...they will last 5-7 gallons before you have to tear em apart ...the v-spec is super eas to tune ...but longevity may get you ...im breaking in a grp tuned .21 now for my jammin ...seems to be a really nice motor and quality ......obtw i would recommend the 3 port over the 5 port go ...the 5 has huge bottom end power some say to much ...the 3 port has awesome bottom and mid and top ..and much smoother than than the 5port ...inmho

Mugen Ninja JX-21 B01A .21 is a perfect truggy motor. It's like a V-Spec but has the DLC coated crank for longer life. Performance matches the OS Speed at a much lower price.

The 3 port is a great mill, for buggy I am not shure if it may give everybody what they want on the bottum in truggy. I have heard of a few people who have used them in truggy with sucess. But the 5 port if it has too much bottum all you have todo is put a smaller restrictor in the carb. It will tone the low end and give longer runtimes.

Top 5 choices for truggy

JX .21 BO1
OS VZB V Spec .21
Novarossi FMS .21
Novarossi Plus 4 .21
Novarossi P5XST .21

These will give you great power and reliability, runtimes and the least amount of needle turning time. All of them are priced oretty well, the FMS is the most, but is well worth it. Stock or modded you can't go wrong with either one.
