Default Blue groove tire selection

What are the most common truggy tires to run on blue groove? I am assuming something like a holeshot or some other small pin tire, but I have never run on blue groove.

on the truggy i like running m3 crimefighters, or you could run m2 holeshots, depending on how abrasive the surface is, the small pin tires can get eaten up pretty quick, i found the m3 crimefighter to hook up really good because of the compound and then last pretty good because of the size of the tread

Soft Cityblocks from AKA will give you more traction than you will ever need.

i have seen people using the panther gators soft on the truggy alot in blue groove situations, it all depends on the amount of grip you want and how long you need it to last, a m3 holeshot will hook up really well but most likely wont last a 30 min main

Treadpattern is going to be less important than compound on a dry blue groove track. Losi and panther tires, will usually work better in those conditions.

Cant comment on AKA cause i havn't used them.

Losi Red or Panther Soft would do the trick.

AKA Cityblock is amazing, almost too much so I will also use the Gridirons. AKA tires have become my new favorites, the tires last forever (soft compounds) and they give a very noticable amount of traction.

My only other blue groove tire that works awesome is the Panther Clay Switches. Bad to the Bone!!

we run on blue groove a lot, not good on tires. the bigger pin the better, bowties m2, gators med , crimefighters m2. if you run m3 or smaller pins it will be ridiculous traction for a short time, then they will be gone. i use my holeshots in loose or muddy conditions cause they last better.

Try the AKA tires, you will not believe how well they last.

Thanks for the responses guys, keep them coming. I am thinking of giving some aka's a try. I have been hearing nothing but great things about them and have had a few bad experiences with proline as of late. Do the soft compound aka's really hold up that well? I normally run m2 compound in prolines because I can't afford to be going through tire every club race, nor does my skill level actually ask for that much performance. Not that I don't want to be as hooked up as possible, but at the expence of $80.00 for tires a race, no thanks. Let me know if all the types of aka's are holding up and all the compounds are wearing well.

These guys are absolutely right. The whole AKA line is superb. I ended up with Gridirons in soft and supersoft, and also Impacts in both compounds. I also have a set of soft Cityblocks. The Gridirons are used more often on club track. They are about 50%, and I've been running them consistantly since June. Thats a couple of hours of practice on Thursdays and racing Saturdays.

VP Pro (medium Flex) Turbo Trax for truggy. Nothing hooks up better.
