Default GRP Engines Tuned vs. Non Tuned

I have been in R/C for awhile but just recently took the plunge into 1/8 scale racing on a local level. I am looking to get a good motor but dont want to spend $400 due to my inexperience. I have been looking strongly into the non-tuned GRP engine(LOSR2001). Can anybody tell me what the main difference between the tuned and non tuned besides price? From what I have read, GRP are easy to tune and hold their tunes fairly well. What are the cons?

actually they can be hard to tune......

the difference between the two is with the non tuned you loose a little power and you going get as good of fuel milage. But its still a good engine overall

If your looking for a good motor at a reasonable price then you can't go past the STS line of motors. They will be plenty fast enough for club racing

I have both of these the non tuned i use for practice. It has good bottom and pulls pretty hard i get about 8:30 a tank with a 7mm insert. The tuned i use for racing and i get about 9:30 on average it has more top than the non tuned. You will be very satisfied with either and they tune easy and hold a tune well.

Thats's what ive heard to, is that you just lose a little top end. I couldnt decide between the non tuned and the go engines, i ended up getting a go engine.
