Which pip?

Hey guys what pipe do you recommend for the Novarossi Plus 21-5k at Revelation Raceway? Its in a buggy. I want great power and fuel mileage.

Get the PIP that ends with an "E":lol:

just kidding, couldn't resist

Pete Worth, a known NR supporter has recomended the NR 9901 pipe with the long NR header. I tried it and it didn't give me the bottom I wanted. It may have been that my 5K was modded or that I generally prefer a hard hitting bottom. I wish I had given myself a chance to try out the 2013 I had, lol. Im sure I would have been very happy then :P. All in all, if you're wanting a smooth response all through the powerband with excellent mileage, the 9901/longheader is the way to go.

Any other recommendations guys

Glad you have a good sense of Humor. I was worried there for a minute, some people would rather just start a fight over silly things. i hope your pipe dilemma works out.

Yeah, I don't get upset over things. It's all in good fun:nod:

JP3- or nr9886.

I used an 053 with the long round header at Rev for more bottom/mid.

Alan,

I'll fore-go recommending a specific pipe & header and just throw some general info your way.

-the lower the RPM you want the pipe to come on, the longer pipe & header.
-a short (abrupt) divergant cone on the pipe will make the pipe hit harder (good for street and 4wd)
-a long divergant cone will soften the power band (my recommendation for 2wd).
-match the header length to the transfer & boost port timing for proper scavanging.
-match the pipe length to the exhaust port timing for correct packing.

I like to mix and match headers and pipes to get best results for my needs.

I know, general answer and that's not what you asked for.:(

run a os 2050 or 2060 pipe. they both work good for me. jp pipe suck for fuel mileage.

GH Racing 12-19-2008 04:28 PM

I would recommend JP-3

Oasis 12-19-2008 04:56 PM

I would run a JP4..A little stronger on the bottom than the JP3..and it still has really good top end power..

Conical header with E2015 pipe,
great combo and great fuel economy,

Have fun

if you want the best of all worlds run a dynamite 053mr with short header(comes with ofna pipes and can be bought seperately) , mccoy mc8 or odonnell 77 plug w/ 7mm carb restrictor . if you want a screamin demon with smooth yet powerful consistent powerband use dynamite 086hs pipeset .
happy motorin' ,
