it is a non-tuned version of the grp.21-.28 tuned line motors ....sooo your runtime probably wont be as much ...but will still be decent as its a nice quality motor .....im just fixing to break in my .21 tuned on the x2 .....i have seen the .21 tuned go 9-1/2 minutes in a buggy with one fuel filter , standard fuel tube routing ....with 125cc tank ....it was almost dry but it was still running ...and on a less than full race tune ....maybe 80%tuned ....i bet you can get 7-8 minutes easy on the one your looking at .....

and im pretty sure it come with the nice backplate , tcs carb ....so i mean your not gonna get wieghted balanced crank ....polishing on the piston and sleeve .....

GRP STANDARD

The GRP .21 Buggy Engine is designed in Italy by GRP, under the direct technical supervision of Mario Rossi. This 1/8-scale non-tuned racing engine is produced with high-quality materials and undergoes a thorough manufacturing process. All of the components used in the non-tuned engines are interchangeable with GRP’s tuned engine parts. This allows the non-tuned engines to be customized for increased performance, while eliminating the need to purchase a new engine. Each engine comes in a GRP plastic box, complete with decals.

GRP TUNED

This is the GRP Tuned .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine. GRP’s engine line is manufactured and designed in Italy using the most up-to-date and advanced mechanical simulation software. The Mario Rossi Tuned .21 Buggy engines represent the maximum expression of the industry’s motoring technology. They provide excellent performance at the highest competitive level.

In the R&D center at GRP, all single engine components have been studied to improve maximum engine performance and its lifetime. By using the very best materials available on the market and the most advanced special treatments, we can guarantee maximum performance and longer lasting engines under the most provoked racing conditions.

After planning and production of the first prototypes, many tests have been carried out in the 1:8 buggy category. With the cooperation of top drivers around the world, we were able to obtain a very reliable engine with superior technical performance, compared to the standard on the worldwide market today.

With the purchase of a GRP engine, customers can count on a technical assistane center, which would carry out any eventual direct repair under warranty, and is also available for any maintenance repairs upon request.

Features

Tuned under the technological supervision of GRP’s Mario Rossi
Highest level of GRP engines
Used in competition by Losi’s Yannick Aigoin, Adam Drake and Mike Truhe, as well as other top racers.
True ABC Construction
Conrod
The connecting rod is produced with a special advanced technological material, which has allowed the exclusion of a bushing on the piston side. This makes the rod lighter, leading to a higher acceleration and rotational rate. Moreover, this material has a specific heat resistance at high temperatures of use guaranteeing a minimal deformation.

Sleeve/Piston
The piston has a particular design and is made directly from a CNC process, using a special aluminum alloy, which guarantees a very high dimensional stability at high temperatures. This also provides for very high wear resistance and easy running due to lower friction.

The sleeve is made with a special ABC alloy, but the main technical and mechanical characteristics are gained after special internal treatments. This guarantees a very high hardness and a considerable wear resistance. All external surfaces are trued to assure the highest dimensional quality.

Crankshaft - APS
The crankshaft is designed with a special profile through which we can obtain the perfect balancing of the piece, without having to balance it up with some weights, which generally create heterogeneous deformations at higher temperatures.

APS - Abrasion Protection System is an exclusive treatment studied after many tests that can be applied on different components. These pieces are wear resistance and they guarantee a reduction of loss of friction and therefore power.

Crankcase
The crankcase has been studied with the most developed and advanced software for mechanical simulation, to simulate all deformations at high temperatures of use. There fore we were able to create a very stiff structure, mainly in the area of cylinder/exhaust and carburetor joint/intake. The mainfold joint is fixed with 4 identical springs, which are perfectly fitted between the cooling fins.

The special aluminum alloy used for the press fusion process, combined with the patent system for port production are extrememly important.

Rear Cover - APS
The rear cover is made with Ergal and then it undergoes an APS treatment. It is resistant to abrasion due to conrod rotation.

Carburetor - TCS
The carburetor is made from a single piece of aluminum alloy, through a press fusion process. All o-rings are made with a special material to guarantee the highest elasticity and resistance to fuel. All carburetors are supplied with a TCS bushing.

TCS - Temperature Control System is a technical concept for the separation of direct contact of the carburetor body with the crankcase to control the temperature of the carburetor itself. An insulating bushing made with a very special mineral material interrupts the heating passage to the carburetor body, guaranteeing a better regulation of the carburetor functions.

Engine Box
Each engine comes with a security cap on the exhaust, entrance of the carburetor, fuel intake and on the crankshaft. Sold in a plastic box with decals.

Specifications:
Engine Code: GT01-21BU

Ports: 5
Sleeve: ABC
Crankshaft: 14mm
Glowplug: Turbo (Conical)
Carburetor: 7.5mm (Variable)

I have both the grp tuned and non tuned. The non tuned rips pretty good i was getting 8:30 a tank for practice. The tuned i get about 9:30 in a race. If you want a good motor that is less expensive and you can win with don't hessitate to get the non tuned version.
