Hmmm...I've got 2 complete sets of them with 2-3 gallons on each set...never had and issue with them.

Are you sure that the ring is in the groove properly?
You may also try a different clip...I got into the habit of using Mugen clips on all my shocks several years ago. They work perfectly in the Caster shocks...as they do in many others as well.

Here's what I've bought in the past...they work on several different brands of shocks.

I might try a different clip too. I have 3 sets that have been perfect for me. Also make sure your shock shaft is not bent if you ran them already because if it is bent close to the shock body than it could hit the clip and pop it out or wear a groove in the shock shaft and allow fluid to leak through that groove. Hope that helps any.

also check the flat part of the clip is not touching the shock shaft.
If it is it will score the shaft and start leaking .
I ruined 2 sets of shafts like this.
I always bend my clips a bit to the side so they dont touch or are close to the shaft.
some AE shock slime or rubber grease on teh orings also helps prevent leaks .
