Default Trinity Phatt Cooling Head!?

I would like to know if someone is using Trinity Phatt Cooling Head on O.S. V-Spec?

Is it worth buying?

Does it do the job like standard one?

P.S. The main reason to change the standard head is that I don't like that 'ugly' blue color.

same situation as you,
i bought a Phatt head for my V-Spec cos the blue one didn't match my bodyshell..

not sure if temps went down, i just wanted the looks and color of the Trinity head..
who cares about temps anyway, as long as there's enuff smoke, all is well! hehe..

but one thing to note, the Phatt head didn't really fit that well on the OS.
had to use abit more strength to screw it in, compared to the stock blue head.
but no problems so far..

is it worth buying?
price-wise, nope!
performance-wise, the stock blue head does a good enough job..
looks-wise, PRICELESS!!

> price-wise:
Between aftermarket cooling heads (O'donnell, Nova, ...) is Trinity head the cheapest one

> performance-wise:
If it does the job as stock head, than it's OK.

> looks-wise:
I don't like the fluorescent colors (like standard head). My new car body will be painted with grey, black & white color, so the standard blue head will not match my bodyshell.

Your model looks very nice. Can you upload some more pictures?

Thanks for the quick response n.e.r.d!

Look at these....

Should be some of the trinity, werks, etc....

The werks is much lighter than the trinity if that matters to ya.

Maybe call them and see what discounts they have this week to save some money

hi chipo, sorted out the Phatt head issue yet?

the EBMods pipe work great with the V-Spec,
i'd say more bottom end, comparable to the 2050 but the 2060 definitely feels smoother.
great price for the EBMods though, if you can still find it ie.!
last i saw it was going for less than $60..

anyway here's a couple more shots of my X6.

Default phatt head

I run the Novarossi phatt head on my Werks (Sirio) with great results 198 degrees after a 20 min main from 240 degrees with the same settings, a must have.

I had a lot of trouble fitting mine to the engine, i dont run it at the moment due to the fact that it seemed like the holes didnt line up, and when tightening it down the first time it did seem quite firm, seemed ok until i ran the car out on the track, car seemed very slow and unresponsive until i came in and realised that the head was leaking around the gasket... so tried tightening it down a tad more but the screws wouldnt budge ( had to use shorter than standard screws to btw ) and the screws had gone a bit sideways in the threads it seems as when i went to put the old head back on and tighten it down it had damaged the threads in the crankcase in the rear left hand hole and it stripped out, so the crankcase was a throw away... not a cheap replacement, so this head has cost me a lot of money! And it still sits in the parts box....

I dont recommend it.
