Thats good you decided on what you want you should go on what best for you. There are too many poeple in here that go on this is the best but they change brands like changing underwear. It gets old really fast

I grew up racing motocross and based on what I am hearing in this thread.
Xray seems like KTM
The Mugen seems like the Honda cr
The RC8 seems like the Yamaha yz
Losi is like the Suzuki.

Funny....I always think in these terms too, and I have my 2 cents to add.

Here's my take:

Xray=kTm (Both Euro. Very detail oriented to fit & finish...quality stuff)
Mugen/Jammin=Yamaha (stable, but being this planted makes steering suffer)
RC8=Honda CR (Good stability, good steering. Middle of the road. Happy.)
8ight=Suzuki RM (aggressive steering but hang on!! Nervous bike. Be alert.)

I've raced/owned every one of these bikes.

I just sold a Jammin and up close, looks like a Mugen rip off. It was very stable, predictable, and very planted. Sounds like a Mugen too.

I currently own the 8ight and RC8.

The RC8 is just the end all for me. It is right in the middle. Does everything well. Not the best at one thing, but when you start doing that, you give up something else for it. Very happy with this car!!

My 8ight is converted to brushless and I drive it much like my 1/10 scale 4wd. It is a fun car to drive because it is so aggressive. The Losi gets your attention quick!! But you can't brain fart for a second. Go into a corner too hot and it will bite you in the arse. It gets outta control quick!! But the pro drivers make it look like it's the best car in the world, so go figure. I just don't think it's your average clubbers car. In the right hands it's obviously one of the best. I love my 8ight!! Love the RC8 too, just different, more forgiving.
