I know th feeling I went through 6 since march in his 2.0. Check the side mud guard. I bet the servo is touching it. Mine was. I had to grind away the top lip so it was nowhere close the sevo. The only other thing is usethe rubber gourments when mounting the servo. I did these 2 things and now no more servo issues. I have been using the same throttle servo now for 3 gallons and counting.

Is the outer air filter on the 8t supposed to be oiled or dry? The losi starter box i bought was from ebay, and the day after i bought it the dude became a no longer registered user. I hate having to wait for paypal to reimburse me, I'm going to get the ofna truggy box once I do. Can anyone show me a vid or picture of the throttle servo or horn properly set on the 8-t 2.0? I'm having a h@ll of a time setting it.

I raised my throttle servo 2mm, with servo spacers that come with the Kyosho truggy, so that the linkage is level and not on an angle, so far, no probs.

Hey everyone. I recently had a center diff go bad on me while I was in a main and my motor got really hot. I fixed the diff and i put my car on the track and it slips to the max..

clutch pads??

also, I am now running a FRONT/CENTER smart-diff. What is a good WT oil to use in the REAR.

What are the handling characteristics of HEAVIER/LIGHTER weight in the REAR.

The outer filter comes oiled in the ones supplied by losi, but as a general rule, most run with the outer dry. An oiled outer will mean dust gets stuck to it, whereas in theory it should fall off a dry one. I use what is called an SMD box here in the U.K. but it's the same box as the ofna, and it's a good box mate.
As for setting the throttle servo, then there is a guide on the Losi site mate.

Heavier rear oil will not rotate as well in the corner. But it will accelerate better coming out of the turns. However too heavy might make the rear too loose depending on track conditions.

Lighter oil will rotate more around the corners. It will accelerate smoother through bumpy sections. You might lose a little bit of forward acceleration from the diffing action.

Meaning, with heavier oil, off-throttle, the car will "180" through tight corners in comparison to lighter oil.

I just put 5000wt in the rear with the new additions to my "smart-diffs" (front and center). Is that too heavy?

Thanks for the explanation!

5000 is not too heavy. It might be perfect for you. It's hard to tell over the net, ya know? Best thing to do is try it out and adjust from there for your liking. If you still have your manual there is good brief descriptions in there towards the back.

In the tight 180* corners the lighter oil will be more planted and go around them quicker. However if you drive on throttle the heavier oil might suit you better.

Hey,

I was wondering how much most of you pull the filter out inside the tank. I hope you know what I mean. Like how long is the fuel tubing connect to the filter inside the tank.

Sweeeet. You're the man. Thank you for the explanations. I'm gonna replace my clutch shoes and give it a try.

Just pull it out far enough that the clunk inside does not hang up on the rear wall of the tank. If you look inside towards the rear, there are two walls extended out from the left and right. I keep the clunk behind those two walls BUT off of the back wall. The purpose is for the clunk to be able to freely move up and down should your vehicle be upside down for a long time.
